Last Parent Student Meeting At Horizon

By the time we made an appointment to attend the Parent Student Meeting, we were more or less firm that we were going to go back to Singapore for good.  So it was effectively our very last Parent Student Meeting in Horizon...

That is a picture of Ace at his Chocolate Sale and on top is what he learnt about doing business at the sale.

This is Ace's results this term. Seems like he is doing pretty well as 3a grading is above average for Year 4.

I am surprised he listed CHINESE as something he wants to get better in.

Here is a research piece that Ace did about the Vikings... he especially shows interest in the Vikings because like his dad, he loves the comic, Hagga The Horrible:)

This one is a piece that he wrote about this guy called Mr Bailey who rides the bicycle around the world. He came to the school to give  a talk and also answer any questions the children might have.

This s a rather funny story that Ace wrote. He likes to write nonsensical stories that are funny to him. I wonder how he will fare when he has to write compositions in Singapore.. haha:)

The picture below was Ace being interviewed but he was having a headache as his class was too cold and so he had this look on his face:) wahaha

Ace was inside a special spelling group as he was good in spelling as well and doing well:)

This is what they did during one of the computer classes. I tried do download the program so Ace could do it at home. Alas, the program could not load in my ancient computer at home...

This one they did a research piece about Viking Longboats

Learning to write a news piece..

This is a story Ace wrote. And it is funny... cos it is about how the vikings attacked a monastery and one of the monks side is called Lee Pang because to Ace, monks are all Chinese! Wahahahaha!

He had to write a diary entry right after I told him that we are shifting back to Singapore for good. For some unknown reason, I dunno why he had this idea that his dad is going to earn 50K in Singapore.. wahahahahahhaah.. and I guess he couldn't wait to hao lian.. too bad his listening skills and math are both not too good:) wahahaha

They learnt how to use Garage Band on ipad to make music and then he came home and used my ipad to make a piece of music tat kept repeating.. wah lau.. si beh irritating after he played on for 5 min! Hahahahahahaa

This term, they theme is the World Cup!:)

They have to research about a country they have never seen before and write about it..

Ace coming up with a few vikings shield design..

Similarities and differences between Ace and the Vikings..

Questions Ace will like to ask a Viking..|

That is Ace trying  to write eye catching headlines. But dun ask me why Constipated Driver = Trouble! :) Wahahahhaah

Oh my god.. I think the teacher must be wondering why a student will write about loansharks. Thanks to the Singapore Police Force lah.. every time we come home, Ace will see those ads by SPF about loansharks warning people and he will ask me may questions about that... as he desired to become a policeman when he grows up.. wahahaha

Seems like he is having fun in science... I had a friend who gave us some science reading material for P3 and P4. My son will take it out to read when he is free.. and read it like a STORY BOOK! Wahahaha

Wah... break your arm also can bring Xray in as a teaching material!

They use computer to do their own projects.

This one was how the students in the Science Challenge group had to bring in stuff to do an experiment. Ace said that his prediction was wrong so he gave himself 6/10.

This is Group 3, Ace's project. He wanted to use WATER to seperate solids that were heavier and lighter. But in the end, when his teacher threw in flour, everything got mixed up and therefore his experiment was not successful.

Ace made some viking weapons at home.. really he made it FOR FUN! They ended up getting displayed under the homelinks section as it was one of the home links!

This is how Ace will look like as a Viking:) wahaha

I will certainly miss HOrizon School and I think Ace is blessed to have had three years there and a chance to meet wonderful educators like Mrs Sinclair, Ms Roberts and many more:)
