I Don't Want Siblings Anymore

As we do not have much time in Singapore, when we are at home, we will usually play with Cayden whenever we can.

Ace was enthusiastic enough and likes to play with Cayden too. He is also always gushing about Cayden and saying how cute he is.

When Max came back to Singapore, he spent one night playing with Cayden. Ace tried to join in but somehow, Cayden doesnt understand playing in a group yet. Plus, Max is very good with babies and had Cayden laughing and giggling away and so, Ace got very upset and started to cry in the bedroom.

I asked him what is it about and he said that Daddy kept playing with Cayden and when he wanted to join in, they just did not include him. He was also very hurt that when he played with Cayden, Cayden merely smiled.. but when Cayden played with Daddy.. Cayden laughed out loud...

His thinking was that in this case, both Cay and his dad liked him less... so he was very upset.

So I tried to explain to him that younger babies tend to need more attention. That is why Daddy was spending time with Cay... and also cos Ah Yee and Nett Nett very tired after taking care of Cayden day in day out.. we help out so that they can get some rest... And that Cayden laughing with daddy means just that Cayden enjoys the games daddy play more.. doesnt mean Cayden love him less..

And then I asked him.. we also always play with other people's children.. he never get upset.. why get upset now..

"I was upset also.. just tat I didnt say..." he said.

Then I explained to him that he keeps wishing for a younger sibling.. he also has to understand a younger baby means more attention needed as bb cannot help himself or herself.. and like how we gave him alot of attention when he was a baby too...

"Then I dun want a didi or a meimei already.." he declared..

Hahahahahhaha..

PS: A few weeks later I asked him..he said he dun mind siblings but has to be didi.. because "Girls are annoying cos they will ask me to tie their hair and play their girl games..." And how did he get that inference? He got it from one of our neighbours whose younger sister is always wanting to play with them but unable to fit in :) hahahaa
