China Trip Pt 5: Tian Zi Fang (Shanghai)

Since we did not have much time left, we decided to take a cab down to Tian Zi Fang.. and we were lucky.. we were by the road side for only less than 2 minutes and we got a cab;)
Ace enjoying the cab ride and his leftover coke:)
Now we can admire the streets of Shanghai at ground level:)
A curious sight awaited us at Tian Zi Fang when we alighted from the cab.. We alighted right in front of an art gallery and right at the top are a few pieces of trousers hanging out to dry! What a juxtaposition!:) We were told that it could be possible that the trousers were hung there on purpose byt eh owner of the gallery since this is an arty farty place tat developed from two prominent Chinese artists purchasing purchasing two factories there and they fought to preserve the beauty of the place and later, more and more arty farty establishments joined them and formed this unique little area..Both me and Max feel that this is very much much like a modernized Lijiang.. so we absolutely love this place! It is a great pity that we did not have much more time to rest here and have a drink or two and let the ambience sink in.. I most certainly would come here for a full day again if I do get to go to Shanghai again!

Some cute toy cars that WORK!!!
Welcome to Tian Zi Fang...
Some dog owners relaxing with their dogs...
A lovely LIU LI Museum...
It looks so pretty on the outside!:) Too bad I dun have time to go in to take a peek..
The streets look so artistic:)

The official gate for you to enter this quaint little place..

Bamboo can become little boats here...

I asked Ace to pretend to be like the statue but he was just posing in some funny way..

Some lovely statues similar to a series we once saw in Singapore.. CUTE:)

The good thing about china is that most of the time, people do not have awareness about copyright so they dun really stop you from taking pics...

I love the blue statue.. very cute!:)

Beautiful tile paintings...

And lots of beautiful displays:)

Ace the love bunny?:P

From far, Max's eyes zoomed in on something cute...

He insisted I have to zoom in and take pic of this.. cute boh?

Streets of TZF..

This toilet has NO DOOR.. so Ace said he doesnt want to go toilet when Max asked him if he wanted to go.. even though he drank half a bottle of coke already!

There are lovely flowers here too! BUT they are fake flowers..

 More lovely but artificial flowers..

The only other place we have seen cute decors like this is Lijiang.. oh, I do miss Lijiang man!

Should have bought this! It can keep your face warm when the cold wind is blowing... brrrrr...

Ace Panda..
Yes sir!

Ah, look at Max's brilliant smile when he saw his fav bottles!

Wish we had time to sit down for a meal or a drink man...

Looks like NAXI language symbols to me.. missing Lijiang again!:)

Max and Ace discovered this rock that looks like a piece of rotting meat.. Max asked Ace why he thought that rock looks so peculiar and how he thought they made the rock look like a piece of meat.. Instead of giving it any thought and trying to come up with a reason, my son just replied.. "How do I know, I am not the shop keeper of this shop.." FAINTZ lor!

Bali Bali!!
Wanna cross stitch your handphone covers? So nice right????

Interesting luggage tag..

Posing with a statue..
And another...
I told Max (who helped me take this photo) that the tagline of this photo is "My new boyfriend.." to which he replied, "Tsk.. so UGLY.." hahahahaha

Cute soft toys on display..

I thought this was interesting BUT slightly scary as it reminded me of niu tou ma mian..

Saw this interesting cafe... the chinese words mean "cat shit coffee".. and I kid you not.. there is a type of coffee called Kopi Luwak tat is of a certain type of coffee bean and fed to certain type of cat and passed through digestive tract and passed out.. it is super expensive and super smooth lor;) But i dunno if the cafe serves the actual coffee or not though.. no chance to find out.. PLUS Max say he would most certainly NOT TRY it even if they do!:)

And then we walked out of the place..

And it was almost time to say goodbye to Tian Zi Fang...

Next stop.. THE CIRCUS! (see next post of more about the circus)
