Trains In A Shopping Mall

The Dubai gang decided that it has been a long time that they havent played MJ so over the weekend, so we arrranged to have a game...actually, it is more of a like a game between Max and the gang while me and Ace got swimming or watching TV:)

After an afternoon of MJ and TV, we all went out for dinner at a nearby mall and after dinner, while the other guys went home, we decided to explore the mall a little...

And when we were walking around leisurely.. suddenly, from far, we saw a train approaching!

"Mummy, look! There is a train in the shopping mall!" Ace got excited...

Initially, I thought it was just some train ride that runs on tracks that go round round till the train drove past us.. then I realized that the train was really going AROUND the mall! There are no tracks!
So of course, Ace wanted to take a ride as well... We found out that for 10 dirhams.. (which is about $3 in sgp money), you get a ride around the whole mall.. so we bought a ticket for Ace to go around...

Me and Max were discussing how this would make alot of money if it was in sgp.. cos it is such a novel idea. Each ride is only 3-5 minutes and each ride can take 21 kids. Each kid $10.... so that is like $210 every 5 min lor:) Even if we charged only half the price in sgp.. still alot of money to be made lor! But leh, sgp malls are too small... space is money so all the lanes are so small or if they are big, they are filled with carts... so no space for such trains...

The thing about malls here in Dubai is that they are super big... and spacious.. quite unlike the ones we have at home.. even those that are smaller in the suburban areas are relatively spacious... Me and Max always wondered how these malls survived... I mean they are so big and not so many pple come as compared to those in sgp... just wat do they survive on?

Anyway, the mall is a relatively small one.. other than the train though, there is nothing interesting...

Even the supermarket is rather small.. it is a small one called Waitrose that my fren says is a popular chain in the UK... apparently they are like Jasons in Singapore... everything is slightly more expensive but everything is of better quality... But give me my spinneys, carrefour and ah neh supermarket anytime man.... hahahahaha.. why pay $15 for a loaf of bread if you can pay $4 for a freshly baked loaf? Bread is just well, BREAD! ;P
