Adventures In Dubai Day 28: Christmas Show At WAFI

We heard from Pauline and Adam that there is some sort of free xmas show in this shopping mall called WAFI.. even though it is near our place, we have never been there before...so I assumed it was not really worth visiting if Max din bring us there.. hahahaa...

We reached a little too early.. so we decided to explore the place a little and take pics..WAFI is surrounded by pyramids and the design of everything is very egyptian..

We saw and escalator and went down and found this really interesting place.. it is some sort of SOUK i think... there is an arabic restaurant there...

And many arabic shops selling all those traditional clothes.. I saw a really nice blouse and tried it on.. i quite liked it but it was 1500AED... so I gave it a pass lah... it is not something I will wear often and I am not willing to pay that kind of money for something I will only wear a few times...

We saw a shop selling photos of dubai and the cheapos in us just got better of us.. so instead of buying them, we just took photos of the photos.. WAHAHAHHAHA

The staircases had banisters tat were decorated with huge diamonds... well, DIAMONDS ARE A GIRL'S BEST FRIEND...

Then the xmas show started... and it is actually quite nice:) They put pictures on the walls of the surrounding buildings and add music to it.. i have a video of it tat I might try to post if I have the time:)

They had lego houses.. lollipops... it was just so beautiful..
When we finished the show, Ace burst into tears.. apparently moved by the beauty of it... when we asked him why he is crying, he said he is crying because he cannot see this in singapore and can only watch TV when he goes back to singapore.. i think he just cannot bear to leave dubai :)

That on the left is the Raffles Hotel in Dubai.. the thing on the right is some sort of decoration.. Max asked me to take a picture of it becuase he says it reminded him of the war memorial thingy in white at city hall...

Then we went to Planet Hollywood for dinner... not a very value for money I would say.. a main dish is like 60 AED and the serving is so small... for an American restaurant...

Ace whining about not having any food to eat and that he is hungry...

Then we placed our orders for a nachos to share with some side dishes... and they had this playground thing and so Ace went to play happily...

Our little meal cost a little more than two hundred dollars (AED) but at least Ace liked it lah.. But given a choice, I wouldn't eat here again:) hahaha

Then we wanted to find this Santa's Grotto where children can meet Santa Claus... on our way there, we saw this Hello Kitty shop from France... and the hello kitty things they sell there are all SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NICE! But so expensive...

I saw this watch and was interested to get it... when I asked about the price, I almost fainted. It cost 19,800 AED lor.. cos the white parts are ceramic (like a rado watch) and the diamonds are REAL diamonds.. would you pay 8-9K sing dollars on tat??? But it is nice though...

But we were disappointed when we found the Santa's Grotto.. it is just a huge decorated place with all sorts of xmas things like snowman and stuff.. if you want to see santa claus, have to pay 50AED and queue up to go into the room to take photo with santa.. we decided not to waste our money.. hahaha

Then we decided to leave.. walked past BURBERRY and saw this... nice right? Have a BUR-BERRY Merry Xmas.. hahaha

Then we went over to Lamcy Plaza to buy stuff we need to cook for xmas party.. At Max's request, I was to cook mutton curry.. Max's favourite.. hahaha... and of cos we went shopping in Daiso again :)

I tried to take a photo of this because this is the most offensive vending machine EVER! It is a perfume vending machine.. and they have samples besides and SALES people standing in front and spraying on unsuspecting prospects.. I mean.. why do you need a sales person if it is a vending machine right? And the most important thing is... the perfumes sold here are the most pungent horribly smelling ones.. why is it called a perfume vending machine if they are vending out bottles of pungent smells?:P hahahaha...

We went home and Ace decided to decorate the balloon he got from Planet Hollywood...

And then, we slept with the balloon floating around the room only to find it on the floor the next morning...

Here's the video of the show:
