Adventures In Dubai Day 26: Desert Safari And Camel Rides!

We tried to wake up earlier to eat Hotcakes happy meal BUT FAILED again.. hahahahaha.. so we decided to have BRUNCH there.. tat's Max helping Ace do up his hair...

The toy of the day, Ace was happy to find out, was a spiderman tat can stick to glass...

Cheese fries burger... created by Max.. hahahaha...

THen Ace went to the playground to play.. It's great how children warm up to each other so effortlessly... he started playing with some indian kids and some german kids despite all of them not really understanding what each other are saying..hahahahaha.. they got into some sort of police and thief game and the asians were the police and the germans were the thieves...

Then we went supermarket shopping at Spinneys and found this FRUIT xmas tree! ;)

Then Max took Ace's spiderman and said he wanted to decorate his car and Ace got upset... hahahahaha.... even the person who served us accidentally gave us two different toys... for the purchase of one kids meal....

Shopping at Burjuman... Lovely xmas pressie to get for the wifey, dun you think?:P hahahaha

So love these hello kitty pyjamas.. but so expensive!

Next, we went to our self proclaimed FEI ZAI TIN TONG... cos in NExt, they have alot of sale stuff and many of them are like size 16, 18.... I bought a pair of maternity jeans for in case I get pregnant again and also cos it is so ex to buy then in sgp... but i think I will just wear them cos they are so comfy...

Then we went back to Neulook to buy Ace his Mr Silly shirt and I bought another dress:)

We went home and rest for a little while and then it was time to wait for our pick up for DESERT SAFARI. We were told not to eat too much or we will vomit and that it is scary and that the seats at the back are supposedly the scariest.... because we were the last to be picked up, WE GOT THE SEATS AT THE BACK! Hehehehe... blessing in disguise I think...

It was a long drive there and because Benjamin had motion illness and so his dad passed him a chewing gum to distract him...and so, Ace wanted to eat it too and so my son was introduced, for the first time, to CHEWING GUM:) And he liked it!

These are the sights of the desserts surrounding us on our way there.. we found out from our driver cum guide that there are many different camps.. because it is Adam's THIRD time there, I think he realizes he has to bring us to a good one:) The sand we saw here are somewhat pale and grey in colour... we think they look more like silver sand... and the reddish ones really glows in the sun like GOLD.. GOLDEN SAND!

That's our car and us stopping over for toilet break before we go on our journey. They driver has to check the car and has to release some air from the wheels before we go into the dessert...

Aunty hor bought a belly dancing scarf and a white scarf to wrap around her head so tat she can be arabic too ;) hahahaha...

Well, I really wondered how Max got these pictures (cos he is incharge of the camera and me in charge of the video using my iphone) cos it was really a roller coaster ride on the sand. They call it sand bashing and we were going around the sand dunes.. up and down.. drifting, turning, spinning.. driving at a 45 degree angle... and Ben and Bern didn't quite like it.. but we I think we couldnt stop or go any slower because we couldnt do the stunts slowly. if we did, the car would topple.. and it was really alot of fun actually ;) I think the driver did more stunts at the start because of Adam but had a subdued ending because of the kids:) Ace kept saying his is brave but he held on tight to us.. hahahaha

That's our driver, Mohammed.. he says tat many tour companies tat do desert tours hire phillipinos or pakistanis to do it but they cant do a good job because they are not used to sand bashing.. only the arabic pple who are used to the sand and grew up around the sand can do a good job of the sand bashing...

That is how it looks like in the car...

We saw people stopping to view the scenery...
Then it was our turn to stop too.. our guide recommended tat we took off our shoes and the children were so glad they could play with the sand.. the sand was so fine and so soft.. and the side facing the sun is warm and the side facing away from the sun is cold...

That's max doing his dreamboard.. hahahaha.. our family with one more daughter-- ANYA.. hahahaha.... pray hard she coming soon...

We saw all these buggies riding in the sand.. while Max really liked them.. he says he probably would not want to try them...

U cant see it in this picture but when we were taking the picture, the driver was actually grabbing my waist from my little back.. I later told max about it and told him I suspect he was trying to cop a feel... Max's reply was "you bet!" Hahaha.. But well, he just grabbed my waist.. so i give him benefit of doubt... if he tried anything more than tat.. he will sure kenna a beating from my strong hubby.. hahahhahaha....

Then we were on the road again and stopped at another point to take a look at sunset! :)

As the sun set, the moon shone brightly in the sky... dualities of the beautiful world existing side by side:)

Then we arrived at the camp and queued up for a free camel ride... Let me describe how we got on the camel.. the camel goes down on his four legs and then you ride on the saddle... and then... his hind legs come up first.. then his fore legs... it is very high up in the air and when his hind legs are up, you will lean forward suddenly by a very big gradient cos the camel's legs are very long and when the camel is standing on four llegs.. it was a really scary experience for me because I was in front and because
The boys showing their V sign because they are both MR BRAVE for having done the camel ride.. I have more pics in Pauline's camera I think:)

That's how it would look like... and actually the ride is only a short distance.. thank god it is a short distance because if not, I will surely die of heart attack.. so scary!

Time to go into the camp...

It's getting cold so we put on our sweaters..

People queing up for food and the children waiting for food...

Me and Pauline went to reckee and had HENNA decorations on our hands.. Bermnice and Aunty Hor also wanted to do it.. nice or not?I loved the design the lady did for me...

Ace eating Aunty Hor's ai xin bee hoon tat Adam asked her to prepare because he was afraid the kids will be hungry.. i feel like I am taken care of by my own mother when I am with Aunty hor lor.. so heart warming.... I HEART Aunty Hor....

Afterward, some belly dancing.. not by big belly type of dancers okie.. is slim, sexy, big booby, fair, long, golden hair type of belly dancers.. hahahaha

And then, we went smoking shee sha....

I am not very good at it so I din produce enough smoke for camera effect.. so Adam helped me with the smoke.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA...

More dancing again...

Ace was just happy to be running around and drinking 7 up! :)

They had a hut where they had all the traditional costumes you can change into... so presenting... Fatimah Peng.. HAHAHAHAHAHA... okie, I dunno wat is a typical girls name here.. so I will call myself Arabic Angel:)

The three arabic flowers.. Angel, Pauline and Aunty Hor.. hahaha

We got to know this guy there and he want4ed to pose with us.. hahaha.. I think he dreaming of having a few wives like in the islamic world.. hahahha

Arabic Angel and Arabic Max.. dun we make a great pair?:P

And of cos..let's not forget.. ARABIC Ace.. or rather, Arabic Mr SILLY... HAHAHAHA

Well, the children were just busy running about....

After all the dancing, they finally serve the main course and desserts... the pita like bread and the rice and the curry all very nice.... the dessert is a local thingy but it is too sweet for me though even though it is nice.. I think not possible to takke too much of it...

Then there was this young turkish chap doing a dance and he was good lor! He just turned round and round and round and round for like 30 minutes!

His skirt can even light up one lor!

And can even twirl it like a roti prata...

Then it was time to say goodbye to the golden sand...

Ace was so tired he fell asleep on the way home.... and tat is how my tattoo looked like when it ried up....

Here is the cover of the camel photo we bought... I took a picture of it because it is indeed a good representative of our visit here....on the top, all the sand bashing we did.. then the Burj Arab hotel.. the CREEK, the shee sha.. the henna on hand...

Dubai's tallest building.. the belly dancing, the dancing turkish man...

And that, was the end of a wonderful wonderful day....

PS: As I was posting this about a week later, Ace saw it and asked me if we could go sand bashing again with Adam and family.. but I told him we cant go as we are going home and we dun have the time....
